RE: San Miguel Resort

Dear Mr. Sharp,

I am very disturbed about your proposal to build a massive resort development in Puerto Rico that will have devastating impact on extremely sensitive habitat and at least seven federally endangered species. I strongly urge you to withdraw all applications to construct the Four Seasons' San Miguel Resort in the municipalities of Luquillo and Fajard.

In 2003, endangered leatherback turtles made 400 nests on the shores of the Northeastern Ecological Corridor. This 3,200-acre coastal fringe is one of the most important nesting sites for leatherbacks in the United States and its territories, according the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This sensitive habitat also houses mangrove forests, a bioluminescent lagoon, and coral reefs.

Constructing these hotels and residential communities in this sensitive habitat is wrong. I urge you to withdraw your proposals NOW. I will join millions of concerned citizens worldwide in continuing to closely follow your actions in this matter.
