RE: Stop irrational rush to war with Iran

Dear Representative ,

The Bush administration’s threats of military action against Iran are breeding resentment and damaging the possibility of future diplomatic engagement with the Iranian government. A military conflict with Iran would further disastrously complicate the situation in Iraq, damage U.S. diplomatic relations throughout the Middle East and the world, further intensify the cycle of violence in the region, and would almost certainly lead to a disaster even greater than the Iraq War.

Rep. Walter Jones’s resolution (H.J.Res.14) requiring congressional approval for the use of military force against Iran will ensure that the president cannot sidestep Congress and spread further the violence in the Middle East.

I very strongly urge you to take an important step toward preventing a violent conflict with Iran by cosponsoring and actively supporting H.J.Res.14.
